Pay to Play is the Tinley Way

Construction season has officially begun as the Village of Tinley Park sent out a notice about upcoming street repairs currently under way.

The Village posted the following statement:

“The Village's annual Street Resurfacing Program will begin Monday, April 15 and will repair or replace 8.3 miles of roadway on 45 streets.

The Village's contractor, Iroquois Paving, will inform residents with a door notice a day before any work is done on their apron or curb…

The Street Resurfacing Program includes asphalt resurfacing, removal, and replacement of selected areas of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter removal and replacement, pavement striping, and other miscellaneous items. The Village typically budgets $3.5 million dollars annually for the construction of this program.”

In February, the same Iroquois Paving Corporation once again donated to Mike Glotz’s Tinley One PAC totaling approximately $8,000 in donations.

There is a pattern of Village vendors landing contracts and then donating to Glotz’s campaign account. If the Mayor does not want to keep being questioned about the Village’s business dealings – there is a simple solution.

STOP TAKING CAMPAIGN DONATIONS FROM VILLAGE VENDORS!

It really is that simple. It is time for Tinley Park to end the Pay to Play culture. The contracting process should be based on merit not on which company is the most willing to write checks to Glotz’s campaign accounts.

Tinley Park residents are paying more today in increased fees and Mike Glotz and his PACS have deposited an additional $35,000 dollars since the beginning of April with a whopping total over 380,000.00 dollars in their political funds!
