Photo Gallery: Were You at the Kids Expo in Tinley Park?

More than 13,000 children, moms and dads from all over the Chicago area spent the day dancing, drawing, meeting new friends and having fun. Look for your photo if you were there.

If you stopped by Kids Expo 2014 at the Tinley Park Convention Center this past weekend, you might have thought you got caught in a Shrek movie.

A ballroom full of princesses, animals (real and mascot sized) and fairy dust filled the annual 2014 Kids Expo. Rooms full of fun and activities, the thousands of families that attended did not go home disappointed.

“It’s our ninth year,” said Caroline O’Connell, Family Time Magazine’s publisher and founder of the Kids Expo.

“Next year will be our 10th anniversary, it’s going to be bigger yet.”

Parents and their children lined up for popular attractions such as the climbing wall and pony rides.  A lot of new things added this year as well.

“This year we have the wax hands," said O’Connell. "The parents like it because they said they can come back and see how their kids have grown.”

No matter what age, Kids Expo had activities for all ages. We even spotted a teenager petting a lemur from Cub Creek Exotic Animals. According to O’Connell about 13,000 people came through the expo over the weekend.

“Parents and their kids have a blast, they come back every year. The whole idea of a Kids Expo, it’s a good memory for them. It makes me feel great inside."

The Kids Expo plans to double next year. To add your booth for a kid friendly event  in 2015, go to www.familytimemagazine.com or call 815-806-8844.
