Pot Businesses In Tinley Park? Village Seeks Residents' Input

The village has issued a survey to get input from residents on whether or not the village should allow recreational marijuana dispensaries.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Village officials are seeking Tinley Park residents' input on whether or not cannabis dispensaries and other related businesses should be allowed to open within village limits. A short survey has been published online seeking to find the opinions of the public on the issue.

Recreational marijuana will be legal in Illinois on Jan. 1, 2020 and after, but individual municipalities can have a say on whether or not to allow recreational marijuana businesses and where to allow them. Some residents shared their thoughts on the issue during a village committee of the whole meeting on Nov. 12.

The village aired the meeting on YouTube and it can be watched below. In it, specific areas in the village were discussed as potential sites for a dispensary.

  • What comments, concerns or suggestions do you have for the Village Board? Responses will be shared with the Village Board.
