Real-world experiences pay off for T-Bolts

District 230 Strategic Framework in Action

Victor J. Andrew DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Club members recently competed at the Illinois DECA Career Development Conference and brought home several awards.

But the state competition is about more than gold medals and honorable mentions. DECA provides opportunities to learn and apply business and marketing concepts through projects, competitions, and leadership roles. Students build skills like communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. Additionally, DECA connects students with industry professionals, peers, and mentors through events and exposes students to different career paths and interests.

District 230 is committed to providing performanced-based instructional experiences that enhance real-world skills for students, and DECA does just that by providing students the opportunity to practice work-based skills in the areas of business administration, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting, finance, and hospitality.
