Recycling Extravaganza, Shredding Event Set For Aug. 22 In Tinley Park
Electronics, clothing and household textile, books and more accepted. Fees charged for items like latex and oil-based paints, TVs.
TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park Environmental Enhancement Commission will offer a recycling and shredding event Saturday, Aug. 22, accepting various items for free and some for a fee.
The group's Recycling Extravaganza offers a chance for residents to unload electronics, clothing and household textiles, books, cans, bottles and paper, gently worn/new shoes, and other items.
A fee will be charged for latex- and oil-based paints, TVs & monitors, and household batteries.

For shredding, there is a limit of two, banker-size boxes per vehicle.
The event runs Saturday, Aug. 22, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the 80th Avenue Metra Station south parking lot, 18001 S. 80th Ave.

Attendees are asked to enter through 183rd and 76th Avenue.
