St. Coletta's Worker Hit Autistic Woman with a Broom: Prosecutor
Anthony Blain remains in Will County Jail Thursday.

A Will County Judge Thursday set bond at $100,000 for a man accused of hitting an autistic woman with a broom at his place of employment.
Anthony Blain, 29, 8752 N. Marshfield Ave., is charged with three counts of aggravated battery and one count each of unlawful restraint and battery for a July 2 incident at St. Coletta’s in Tinley Park. He was arrested July 7 after he turned himself in at the request of police.
Will County prosecutors say Blain grabbed the 27-year-old woman’s hair and hit her with a broom, Chicago Tribune reports. The woman was injured, but did not require hospitalization, police said in a release.

Prosecutors wanted a bond of $750,000, but Judge Theodore Jarz set it at $100,000, after Blain said he would have difficulty acquiring even $1,000.
He could serve up to two to five years in prison on the most serious charges of aggravated battery. A preliminary hearing will be held July 30.
