Tinley Park Cops Collar Wanted Ex-Con
The Steger man had done time on a heroin conviction and was wanted for violating his parole, police said.

An ex-convict wanted for violating his parole was apprehended at the Tinley Park restaurant where he was working, police said.
Andrew Beers, 30, was taken into custody in the kitchen of the Cypress restaurant on 167th Street.
A Tinley Park police officer reportedly discovered Beers, who was released from prison in July 2013, was wanted on a warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections. The officer said he has “had multiple contacts with Andrew while employed as a Tinley Park police officer” and knew he was working at the Cypress restaurant.

When he went over there, the officer “immediately observed Andrew in the kitchen and informed him there was a warrant for his arrest and took him into custody without incident,” police said.
The Tinley Park police said Beers was turned over to personnel from the Illinois Department of Corrections, but IDOC records do not show them ever taking the Steger man back into custody since his release nearly a year and a half ago.
