Tinley Park Farmers Market Begins June 3
Several new vendors will make their debut when the Downtown Tinley Farmers Market begins at Zabrocki Plaza on June 3.

TINLEY PARK, IL -- The start of the season for the Downtown Tinley Farmers Market is just weeks away. The weekly event featuring locally grown goods will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3 at Zabrocki Plaza and take place every week until the middle of October.
Becky Nichols, of Evon’s Trophy and Gift Shop and the organizer of the yearly market, says there will be at least five new vendors to the gathering that’s always been a reliable source of “great foods and great crafts.”
“I’m really excited about this year,” Nichols said. “We’ll have more than 60 vendors. Many returning favorites and some new ones.”

Free crafts for kids, including a face painter, will be present at the market beginning at 9 a.m. on June 3 and on every Saturday morning until Labor Day weekend.
“It’s a nice thing to come out and do,” Nichols said. “It’s well-rounded. A place you can get your morning coffee, try out the bagels and donuts or get flowers for your wife.”

Supporting the vendors is also something to be proud of.
“It’s their livelihood,” Nichols said. “Everything they sell they either grew from seed or know where it did.”
