Tinley Park Farmers Market Returned This Weekend

The Tinley Park Farmers Market opened Saturday with new procedures in place to protect shoppers and vendors from coronavirus exposure.

The Tinley Park Farmers Market will return this weekend with new procedures in place to protect shoppers and vendors from potential exposure to COVID-19. Stop by from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays this summer in the north parking lot of the Oak Park Avenue train station for all your fresh food needs.

In order to provide the same great Farmers Market experience for shoppers while still keeping safety in mind, the following new rules will be in place:

  • There will be only one way in and one way out of the market, with a limited number of people allowed in the event area.
  • The market will include only essential items such as produce, prepared food, soap
  • and masks.
  • Event staff will set up social distancing markers by the entrance and in front of each vendor tent to make sure people stay at least six feet away from each other.
  • All items will be pre-packaged. Customers will be unable to enter a vendor tent or touch products until they are paid for.
  • Customers will be unable to consume food in the event perimeter.
  • There will be no portable restrooms available for customers.
  • No dogs will be allowed in the event perimeter.
  • Everyone will be required to wear a face covering while in the event area, including the line to get in.
  • Vendors will not be handing cash back.
