Tinley Park High School Fishing Show

Join us for a day of family fun supporting high school athletics

Twenty-five years ago, the Football Boosters had an idea to host an Outdoor Show. The administration at the time thought it was a long shot but gave the okay to proceed. This year marks the 26th year of the Tinley Park High School Fishing Show. The show dates for 2019 are February 9 & 10 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Rich Komar, the show manager for all twenty-six years was asked why this show is able to succeed year after year becoming the longest running show in the Chicagoland area. He stated that it starts with administrations who believe in what you are doing for the school, great exhibitors, and most of all a great following of outdoor enthusiasts attending year after year.

This is an affordable show where Mom, Dad, and the kids can get in the door at a great price. Admission to the show is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, $5.00 for kids age 7 to 13, and free for those 6 and under. Held each year at the Tinley Park High School, this show offers over 180,000 square space of exhibitor space and has ample free parking.

Exhibitors from several states come to this show to sell just about everything made for fishing and outdoor fun. There are vacation resorts represented from Canada to Kentucky; charter-fishing trips can be booked for the Great Lakes in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio. Fishing clubs will be at the show and numerous guide services will offer fishing trips for Crappie, Bass, Walleye and Muskie.

In addition to the great exhibitors, there will be fishing seminars and demonstrations. This year, kids can sit in on seminars for catfish, bass, and musky and get up close to some reptiles.

Once again this year there will be an auction where you will be able to bid on trips donated by the show’s vendors, Rods, Reels, Depth Finders, Tackle bags along with many other great items that will be up for bid all weekend long.

The Tinley Park Athletic Booster Club continues to run this event with the proceeds supporting all of the student athletes at the Tinley Park High School. Adding to the show’s success is the support given from sponsors like Plano, Cableas, Bettenhausen Motor Sales, St Croix Rods, Chauncey’s Great Outdoors, Lowrance Electronics, Country Insurance, and IHT Wealth Management. The hard work and dedication from the parents and the students is what pulls this show together; their selfless efforts bring exhibitors and visitors back year after year.

The show is held at the Tinley Park High School, 6111 W. 175th Street, just East of Ridgeland in Tinley Park, Illinois.
