Tinley Park Jewel Slapped with Another Lawsuit over Salmonella Outbreak
Another woman has filed suit against the store, alleging she contracted Salmonella from goods purchased from the deli.

Another Tinley Park woman who allegedly contracted salmonella from deli meat purchased at a Jewel in Tinley Park is taking action against the grocery store chain.
Janet Lewis filed a lawsuit, Feb. 17, alleging that food she bought from the deli on May 16, 2014 caused her ”severe gastrointestinal symptoms” two days later, reports the Cook County Record.
In June, the deli was shut down temporarily after cases of salmonella were traced back to the same deli.The suit alleges that as many as 15 other people also contracted salmonella from food purchased from the store at 17117 Harlem Ave.

Jewel is accused of “failing to maintain its deli and prevent the transmission of Salmonella, as well as making, distributing and selling food adulterated with Salmonella. Lewis is seeking damages.
