Tinley Park Mayor Pitches Pay Raises for Mayor, Trustees

Acting Mayor Dave Seaman suggested it's time to revisit salaries for elected officials.

Acting Tinley Park Mayor Dave Seaman floated the idea of raising base salaries for elected village officials during a committee meeting Tuesday.

Seaman suggested upping trustee pay to $15,000 from $13,000, the mayor’s salary to $45,000 (from $32,000), and clerk’s pay from $22,000, to between $40,000 and $42,000.

Under the plan, a longevity pay bonus for longstanding officials would be nixed. Residents in April voted in favor of term limits for their public officials, which deems the longevity pay concept inoperative.
