Canines (and felines) at Tinley Park P.A.W.S. have pulled through their battle with an influenza running rampant in Illinois, and they’re ready for new homes.
To celebrate, the shelter will host a grand re-opening Saturday, May 30 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the shelter, 8301 W. 191st St.

“PAWS is happy to report that we have a shelter full of healthy dogs and cats anxious to find their forever home,” shelter staff wrote on their Facebook page. “It has been a rough month for all of us but we did it with our the help of our dedicated volunteers, veterinarians and generous support from the community.”
The flu infected almost all of the shelter’s animals, dogs and cats alike. Staff lost one of their furry warriors—a 3-year-old chihuahua named Johnny Suede—to the flu earlier this month, as staff and volunteers were treating others with IV fluids and medications.
