Rose Carmelle Maxime described the hardships she endured while living in Haiti

Tinley Park High School celebrates the diversity of the students and staff through the Seekers Diversity Club organized by Mrs. Selime Baftiri-Ballazhi. On January 17, the culture of Haiti was spotlighted at their monthly meeting. Sophomore Rose Carmelle Maxime, shared her story of immigration into the United States with the members of the club. She described the hardships that she endured while living in Haiti, especially after the earthquake of 2010. Students were fascinated with her story and said that it inspired them to not take their lives for granted. In February, the Diversity Club will focus on Black History Month.
