Tinley Park Woman Threatened Attacks During Fireworks: PD

Police said she sent texts threatening attacks at July 4 displays in Orland Park, Lockport, Tinley Park, Joliet. She was arrested Friday.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A Tinley Park woman was charged Friday with disorderly conduct after police determined she had sent a series of texts threatening attacks during July 4 area fireworks celebrations.

Jeanette Larue, 50, of Tinley Park, was charged after sending text messages to her nephew July 4 threatening to attack fireworks celebrations in Tinley Park, Orland Park, Lockport and Joliet, police said.

The nephew immediately reported the messages to Tinley Park police, who were able to track the phone number to Larue. She admitted to sending messages to her nephew but denied texting anything threatening, police said. Police were able to find the texts on her phone and took her into custody.

Tinley Park and Orland Park police were able to identify the sender and determine the threats were false prior to the start of the fireworks events, and at no time was anyone in any danger.

Larue will appear at the Bridgeview Courthouse on Aug. 12.
