Tinley Police Roll Out New Squad Car Design

The new look puts more emphasis on the words "Tinley Park Police."

The Tinley Park Police Department recently unveiled its newly redesigned squad cars.

The new design puts greater emphasis on the words “Tinley Park Police” printed on the side doors by using larger letters than the previous design. It also incorporates the American flag on the rear glass and new safety graphics in the rear of the vehicles.

The redesign keeps elements from the previous version, such as the traditional navy blue color and the official Village seal. There are 12 redesigned vehicles in service, all of them SUVs.

“Our main goal with this redesign is to make our cars easily recognizable as police cars; more importantly, as Tinley Park police cars,” Tinley Park Police Department Chief Steve Neubauer said. “We want residents to be able to spot one of our cars immediately, and these new features will help greatly.”

The new design will be added to new cars in the fleet. Older cars will not be retrofitted unless they suffer extensive body damage and need repair.
