Tinley Woman Asked To Take Down 'W' Flag

Cassie McDonald shared someone's request to take down her "frat house looking" 'W' flag after a Chicago Cubs win.

TINLEY PARK, IL -- A Tinley Park woman who was requested to remove her Chicago Cubs 'W' flag from her front porch after a victory by the team last week took to the neighborhood community watch page to poke fun at whoever wrote her the letter requesting it be moved.

Cassie McDonald took a photo of the typed letter she said she received at her doorstep.

The letter read:

"After many conversations with our neighbors from across 167th Street, we are asking if you could please take down the "w" flag off of your porch and put it on a flag pole, where it should be hung. Hanging it off your front porch is very frat house looking and makes our area look bad - just like the run down apartments on the North Side of 167th Street just East of Harlem. If you haven't noticed how trashy they look with their flags hanging off their balconies, maybe you will now. Thanks."

McDonald's tagline in the Tinley Park Community Watch group: "Is this serious?" With three happy faces. It was posted on July 28.

The response from the public, in the form of more than 300 comments, was mostly in favor of McDonald. One person even left a Chicago Cubs pennant at her doorstep.

"Whoever left the pennant on my front porch- you're amazing," she said.
