TPHS Partners With 'Knitting It Together' To Donate Handmade Blankets
NHS students partnered with Knitting It Together to create and donate handmade fleece tie blankets to adult cancer patients in hospitals.

In a meaningful act of service, Tinley Park High School National Honor Society (NHS) students partnered with Knitting It Together to create and donate handmade fleece tie blankets for adult cancer patients in local hospitals.
The students gathered under the guidance of Christy Loughry, Founder of Knitting It Together, who shared the simple yet impactful craft of creating fleece tie blankets. Working together, the group completed 46 blankets in a variety of colors and designs, each created to bring compassion and support to cancer patients in Southwest Suburban hospitals.
“It’s inspiring to see these young leaders channel their energy into creating something so meaningful for others, service is the heart of the National Honor Society,” said Pietro Sansone, advisor of the Tinley Park High School NHS chapter. “Our students not only learned a new skill but also experienced the power of community collaboration. I’m incredibly proud of their dedication.”
