Trinity Lutheran Church and School would like to invite you and your family to an entertaining evening of theater at the Tinley Park Performing Arts Center on Friday, July 21st, and Saturday, July 22nd at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, July 23rd at 2:00 PM.
The twentieth annual Poetry in Motion contest has finally arrived, and the Beaumont Academy for Girls is looking forward to once again taking home the first place trophy. But this year Park Central High School’s poetry team has a secret weapon, and are hopeful that a successful recitation of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” will earn them the victory that has eluded their school for twenty years. As the day goes on, though, PCHS sees their hopes of winning dwindle as various team members become plagued with a nasty case of the flu, a rather loud set of hiccups, and a nervous breakdown. To top it all off, the Beaumont girls decide that the only way to ensure their victory is to employ some not-so-discreet sabotage. Soon the whole day dissolves into chaos as each member of the PCHS team falls victim to sabotage, and the decades-long rivalry between the teachers at the two schools comes to a head. Can PCHS rally, or will Beaumont Academy reign victorious once again? At the end of the day, there can only be one winner at Poetry in Motion!
This the first-ever summer show we have ever put on at Trinity! We are very excited to present this show to the community and showcase a very talented cast. Poetry in Motion is a brand-new, original show written by Miss Laura Piel, and was inspired by her experiences of teaching poetry to her Literature class at Trinity Lutheran School. Not only does the play have a fun and comedic plot, but it also gave the cast a chance to learn and explore some classic poetry that their characters recite within the show!
