VERNON HILLS, IL — Three men have been charged in connection with the pistol-whipping and robbery of a 16-year-old boy Thursday afternoon at a Vernon Hills Park District maintenance facility.

Charles Lynch, 18, Cesar Santos, 18, and Anthony Watson, 20, each face charges of aggravated battery, armed robbery and theft and remain in custody at the Lake County jail as they await their detention hearings. The suspects fled with the teen's property, and police said witness statements, surveillance video and automated license plate reader data helped them identify and take the three of four suspects into custody.

The teen was found bleeding from the head and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he was treated for a head laceration and released, according to the article.
