$1.1M Going To Western Springs For Improvements: State
The village says it is seeking information on what the money is specifically for.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – The state last week announced billions of dollars for transportation projects throughout Illinois over the next six years.
That money includes $1.1 million next year for Western Springs. According to the state, it is designated for pedestrian walkways and streetscaping in Western Springs.
In an email to Patch, village spokeswoman Selmin Cicek said local officials were pleased that Western Springs was projected to receive money.

"(B)ut we have not yet received information on what it is specifically for," she said. "It could be for an (Illinois Department of Transportation) project that is taking place within Western Springs, or it may be for a Village-led project. Village staff have reached out to state contacts for details, and we'll let you know once we know more."
The project is part of $41 billion going to state and local transportation projects, according to the Department of Transportation.
