Man Killed In Western Springs Crash Identified

A six-car crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday in Western Springs.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A man who died in a multi-car crash in Western Springs on Thursday has been identified.

Police said Joseph P. Mankiewicz, 44, of Chicago, who was in an Audi A7, was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police responded to a six-car crash on Ogden Avenue between Harvey and Clausen avenues. Three adults were taken to area hospitals, two of them in serious condition and another in stable condition, police said in a news release Friday afternoon.

Western Springs police said they are continuing to investigate the crash with the help of the state police.
