Guns On LT Campus: 2 Men Charged

The discovery happened shortly after the football game with Proviso West.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Two men have been arrested in connection with handguns found in a car at Lyons Township High School’s South Campus after Saturday’s football game.

About 4 p.m., Western Springs police were called about two men who were acting suspiciously and may have had guns, police said Tuesday. Two officers quickly identified the men, who were attempting to enter a black Chrysler 200 M. Another officer saw two 9 mm Glock handguns in plain view inside the Chrysler, police said.

Neither man was seen with a handgun on his person, according to a Western Springs news release. One of the guns included an extended 30-round magazine, and the other an extended 29-round magazine, police said.
