$30K Scam In Western Springs: Cops

A village resident wired the money to a website, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs released its latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:

  • A resident in the 4400 block of Harvey Avenue lost about $30,000 in an online scam. She wired the money to a website. The scam was reported May 3. Patch has filed a public records request for the full report.
  • A car hit the gates of the BNSF railroad crossing gate at Wolf Road. The gate arm was torn away. The incident was reported about 8 a.m. May 3.
  • The windows of an excavator were shattered at Spring Rock Park. The incident was reported about 10 p.m. Saturday.
