41st Annual Tower Trot Held In Western Springs

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — In just a few weeks, it will be time for the 41st annual Western Springs Tower Trot. The annual race first came about in 1978 to boost the revenues of the village’s Recreation Commission, the village said.

The race will be held on Saturday, May 26, starting at 8:30 a.m. The race is open to all ages and registration is required. You can register for the race or learn more at the village website. The race includes a fun run, 5K 10K, and double run (10K and 5K).

According to the village, the 10K and the double run kick off at 8:30 a.m.; followed by the fun run at 8:45 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m. The start and finish for the race is the Grand Avenue Community Center, 4211 Grand Ave.

The Western Springs Tower Trot will partner with the Healing Hands for Ashley Foundation – an organization committed to raising awareness for Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy. According to the village, the Healing Hearts for Ashley Foundation was founded in memory of Ashley Jurjovec, a former Western Springs middle school teacher who passed away in 2016.
