$78K Scam In Western Springs: Cops
In another development, the village saw its first arrest in six weeks.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the latest reports:
- A resident in the 5100 block of Harvey Avenue told police Wednesday that he was the victim of a scam. He withdrew $78,000 from various banks, then placed the money into bitcoin machines. Patch has filed a public records request for the full report.
- Western Springs made its first arrest in nearly six weeks. Last Wednesday, Juan De Dios Rosales, 25, of Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured vehicle and speeding. He was released on bond. The last arrest before Rosales' was Aug. 4, when police charged a Des Plaines man with driving on a suspended license.
- A woman told police on the afternoon of Sept. 13 that her car parked at Forest Hills Elementary School, 5020 Central Ave., was struck by another car. The other driver drove away without stopping.
