Adventist La Grange Hospital to Hold Community Health Town Hall Forum

Free, public forum will focus on what changing health care landscape means for patients, residents & hospital

Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital will hold a community health town hall forum on Nov. 13 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. At the event, which is free and hosted in the hospital’s Dixon Education Center, residents and hospital leaders will discuss what the evolving health care landscape means for them, their community and their hospital.

Michael J. Goebel, CEO of Adventist La Grange Memorial and Adventist Hinsdale Hospitals, and Dr. George Mayzell, Senior Chief Medical Officer and Chief Clinical Integration Officer for Adventist Midwest Health, will give brief presentations on what the hospital is doing to position itself for continued success — including expansions to elevate patient care — and what the Affordable Care Act means for residents and the hospital.

Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions during the event.

“With so much changing in the health care right now, many people are left with more questions than answers,” Goebel said. “We want residents of our community to know that we’re here to answer those questions and to seek their input as we navigate these changes both as a community hospital and a health care system.”

Adventist recently signed a formal agreement to form an affiliation with Alexian Brothers Health System and continues to keep an eye out for additional partnerships. With this and other exciting changes on the horizon, residents will be encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback during the forum.

“At Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, and across Adventist Midwest Health, we are focusing on population health – ensuring the health and wellness of our entire community – instead of just treating patients when they get sick,” Mayzell said. “We want to make sure that our patients know what this means for them and the role they play in managing their health.”

The event is free and open to both the public and media. Space is limited. Residents can RSVP online at www.keepingyouwell.com/almh or via phone at 630-856-7525.
