Beginning April 7th, the pastoral services department of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital is hosting a six-week Grief Loss Support Group that will meet every Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., ending May 12th. Sessions are free of charge and will be held in the hospital chapel, located at 5101 S. Willow Springs Road in La Grange.

Led by Chaplain Colleen Narbone, the program allows group members to share their stories and their pain in a healing environment of mutual support and acceptance, while educating participants about issues surrounding the ‘seasons of grief’. Topics to be addressed include: remembering, accepting and expressing feelings, stress and coping, anniversaries/memorialization and support systems.

First conducted in 2011, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital is hosting this new grief support program at the request of participants from the previous sessions. Members who found hope and healing in that initial support group are hopeful that other grieving friends and family members can find the same sense of peace and acceptance through shared understanding and experiences.

If you or someone you know is struggling with the stress and challenges of grief and loss, contact the Pastoral Office at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 708-245-3920, to participate in this healing support program. Advance registration is recommended.
