Adventist LaGrange Offers Smoking Cessation Class

If you’re trying to quit smoking and looking for help, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital will offer eight weeks of smoking cessation classes starting September 9.

The classes are modeled after the American Lung Associations’ Freedom from Smoking Program. Participants meet a total of 8 times over 7 weeks. Sessions focus on preparing to quit, actual quit day, maintenance and support. Participants learn what triggers their smoking habit as well as different coping mechanisms to use in place of having a cigarette. Medications are discussed in addition to stress reduction, diet and exercise.

Cost is $99 and covers all materials, handouts and CD.
