WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police officers are getting 3.5 percent raises each year under a new three-year union contract that the village approved Monday.
The two sides ratified the pact more than a year after the last one expired, which was on March 31, 2025.
The new contract's first pay hike is retroactive to April 1, 2025.
Under the new agreement, physical fitness testing is now voluntary and a body camera memorandum of understanding is included.
The union is the Metropolitan Alliance of Police Chapter 360.
"We had very positive negotiations with employees represented by MAP 360," Village Manager Ellen Baer told the Village Board at its meeting.
In 2023, Western Springs officers went about a year without a contract.
