• Western Springs Officials Chide High School Over Proposed Construction (patch.com) — Western Springs neighbors and village plan commissioners sharply criticized Lyons Township High School's South Campus project for a new discus and shot put area and bleachers behind Howard Avenue homes. Residents raised safety, drainage, noise, and tree removal concerns, while commissioners faulted the school for starting work without a village permit and for poor communication. The public hearing will continue Sept. 17 at Village Hall.
