The village of Western Springs will hold its annual NEAT Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 14 from 8 a.m. to noon.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The village of Western Springs will hold its annual NEAT Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. According to the village, Project NEAT, or the Neighborhood Environmental Appearance Team, is where community groups and families join to clean litter and debris in and around public areas of Western Springs.
According to the village, you can bring rakes, brooms and gloves to help with the cleanup. Groups are encouraged to pre-register so appropriate work sites can be arranged. However, you can also register and check in for the event on the day between 8 a.m. and noon at the Recreation Center, 1500 Walker St. The rain date will be Sunday, April 15.
According to the project's website, NEAT was created in 1986 as a subcommittee of the Architectural and Appearance Commission in preparation of the village’s Centennial celebration. The first work day was organized on April 19, 1986.
