Bad Behavior In Western Springs? Police On Guard Saturday
The local police department is preparing for crowds headed to Chicago.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police are preparing for crowds headed Saturday to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Chicago, an official said this week.
Metra is adding more train service Saturday because of the parade, Village Manager Ellen Baer said.
"I would hope that will alleviate some of the concerns that happened last year when trains were full, and riders in the Western Springs area and closer to the city were unable to get onto those trains that they expected would come," Baer told the Village Board.

Local police will have an increased presence, monitoring crowds and citing people for violations if needed, according to the village's website.
The village is encouraging parents to have discussions with their children before they head to the city unsupervised.

"We will have enough of a presence out there, I believe, to curb any bad behavior that we may have seen in the past," Baer said.
