Bike Theft, Sign Removal: Western Springs Cops

A locked bicycle was stolen from a bike rack last week, police say.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the police reports:

  • A locked bicycle was reported stolen Sept. 13 from a bike rack at Hillgrove and Lawn avenues. It was valued at $850.
  • A stop sign and pole were removed without permission Sept. 14 at the northeastern intersection at Lyons Township High School's South Campus.
  • Kevin P. Piven, 22, of Plain1111field, was cited about 9 a.m. Wednesday at 55th Street and Laurel Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was released on bond.
  • A fraudulent mortgage application for a property in Michigan was made in the name of a resident in the 3900 block of Hampton Avenue. The report was filed Wednesday.
