Boil Order In Western Springs Neighborhood
It is because of many main breaks in the subdivision, the village said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs issued a precautionary boil order early Monday evening for the Ridgewood subdivision because of many water breaks, the village said.
An alert was sent via phone and text message to affected residents, according to a village statement.
The village said it has no evidence of contaminants entering drinking water, but because of the problems, it is the recommended course at this time.

According to the village, a boil water order means:

- Any water that is consumed either by drinking or cooking between now and 9 p.m. Tuesday should be brought to a rolling boil for five minutes before use.
- At 9 p.m. Tuesday, the precautionary boil order will expire unless the village extends it.
- Do not use ice machine or refrigerator-filtered water during this time.
- The water is safe to use washing clothes and linens or cleaning dishes because of the additional use of cleaning agents.
