Car Burglaries Reported In Western Springs

In another case, an adult and two youths were cited on fireworks charges.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Three unlocked cars were broken into overnight June 29 in a Western Springs neighborhood, police said.

Two of the burglary reports were in the 4400 block of Howard Avenue. Someone rummaged through the cars, but nothing was stolen, police said.

Another car was broken into in the 10 block of Burlington Avenue. A pair of sunglasses worth $200 were stolen, police said.

  • A man and two youths were cited in separate incidents under a local ordinance on fireworks possession charges. The man was charged about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of 50th Place, while the youths were charged about 9 p.m. July 4 in the 4200 block of Western Avenue.
  • A 27-year-old Hillside man was arrested about 10 p.m. July 1 at Wolf Road and Ogden Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured car.
  • A 58-year-old Plainfield man was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday at 47th Street and Grand Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
