Car Hits Train In Western Springs
The driver and passenger walk away, but their car sustains major damage, report says.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A car collided Sunday with a freight train at the Wolf Road crossing, Western Springs police said.
The car's occupants suffered no injuries, but were taken to the La Grange hospital as a precautionary measure, police said. They were able to get out of the car on their own.
About 1:30 p.m., the driver, a 37-year-old woman, and a 38-year-old man were headed south on Wolf Road at Hillgrove Avenue when their car struck the second compartment of a westbound freight train, according to a Western Springs police news release. They were in a 2016 Toyota SRS.
