In an email to Patch last week, Police Chief Brian Budds said he was unable to confirm whether it's been the longest period in a while without arrests.

"Nevertheless, it is certainly noteworthy and a trend that I will be monitoring moving forward," Budds said. "This latest trend, however, is not indicative of our Patrol Division’s ongoing efforts in terms of high visibility traffic enforcement and other officer initiated engagement in the community as evidenced by our overall calls for service, which are currently over 10,000, which is a significant increase as compared to prior years."
