Carjacking In Downtown Western Springs: Cops
Suspects with handguns took the victim's cash at an ATM, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL β A carjacking was reported early Sunday morning in downtown Western Springs as a driver was withdrawing cash at an ATM drive-thru, local police said.
About 6 a.m. in the 4400 block of Wolf Road, a dark SUV pulled into the parking lot and blocked the front end of the car that was at the ATM, according to a Western Springs police news release.
Five people got out of the dark SUV, at least three of whom were armed with handguns, police said.

The suspects demanded the driver's phone and the cash he had just withdrawn, police said.
Two of the suspects entered the victim's car and drove away, while the remaining three left in the dark SUV, according to the news release.

Shortly after, officers found the phone nearby. Within an hour, the stolen car was found in Chicago, police said.
Police urged drivers to remain aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity without hesitation.
