Cars On This Western Springs Street Targeted: Cops

Two cars were unlocked, with one of them stolen, police say.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

  • An unlocked car with the keys inside was stolen July 12 while it was parked in the street in the 3900 block of Lawn Avenue. Three days later, the car was recovered in Calumet Park.
  • A car was burglarized on the night of July 12 in the 3900 block of Lawn Avenue. The owner believed he left the car unlocked. The garage door opener was stolen.
  • Marsha A. Aranda, 25, of Chicago Ridge, was cited about 11 a.m. July 12 in the 5700 block of Wolf Road on charges of driving with a suspended license and using a phone while driving. She was released on bond.
  • The gate that opens into Bennett Field at Lyons Township High School's South Campus, 4900 Willow Springs Road, was reported damaged July 9. The chain that connects the padlock to the gate was cut.
  • A flower pot was smashed in the street in the 4000 block Forest Avenue. The report was filed July 11.
