Celebrating Autumn with Classical Music

Western Springs Music Club October 12, 2016 Program

Musicians from the Western Springs Music Club brightened our spirits at the Oak Brook Library on a rainy October day. The program included:

Karin Ursin (flute) and Lisa Wolf (guest pianist) performed Aaron Copland’s “Duo for Flute and Piano”;

Lisa Boggess (harp) performed Kim Robinson’s “Maya’s Return”; Annie Challan’s” Broceliande”; and Bernard Andres’ “Dances D’Automine, No. 2”.

Vocalists Karen Smith (Soprano) and Peggy Barber (Messo Soprano) accompanied by Nola Gustafson (piano) performed Brian Lewis’s “Cantate Domino” and “Benedictus”, and Marcos A. Jimenez’s “Adios, Mariquita Linda” (Cancion Michoacana). And,

Piano duo -- Kathi Best and Nola Gustafson performed Gabriel Faure’s “Dolly.”

The program ended with socializing over cookies and apple cider.
