Children's Theatre of Western Springs Hosts Fall Classes
Students in kindergarten through high school may sign up for a wide variety of classes.

Enrollment has begun for The Children’s Theatre of Western Springs’ 70th Anniversary Year.
Students in kindergarten through high school may sign up for a wide variety of classes including improvisation, musical theatre, mask-making, technical theatre, and puppetry. Classes are taught by professional theatre educators who are knowledgeable, nurturing, and passionate about arts education. Students of all skill levels are welcome.

CTWS also offers many performance opportunities for young actors and family audiences. This season includes productions of The Giver, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Anne of Green Gables, How I Became a Pirate, Aladdin, and Afternoon of the Elves.
Group rates are available for all shows, and overnight experiences are available for A Charlie Brown Christmas and Anne of Green Gables.

Founded in 1946, CTWS has become one of the best children’s theatre programs in the country. Year ‘round, semester-long, and mini-sessions are available for students in 1st through 12th grades. Kindergarteners may join the program for spring break camp and for the 6-week spring session of classes.
This year, CTWS is also expanding its Socially Speaking Classes which encourage students with communication disorders to practice social skills through improv and theatre games. Two sections of Socially Speaking are being offered in order to accommodate a broader range of ages. In addition, sensory-friendly performances are scheduled for A Charlie Brown Christmas and Anne of Green Gables.
The Children’s Theatre of Western Springs strives to be an outlet for exploration and acceptance and encourages students to develop collaborative skills while honing their artistic talents. CTWS nurtures budding artists all while strengthening self-confidence and fostering life-long friendships.
