Coalition to host panel about teens, alcohol and drugs

January 24 at 7pm at the Lyons Township High School South Campus Performing Arts Center

The Coalition for a Drug Free Lyons Township is hosting a panel discussion for parents entitled, Healthy Minds and Bodies: The Importance of Keeping Your Teens Alcohol and Drug Free on January 24 at the Lyons Township High School South Campus Performing Arts Center, 4900 S. Willow Springs Rd., Western Springs, beginning at 7pm.

Panelists will discuss how parents can talk to their teens, signs and symptoms, how to discern signs of use from normal teen behavior, risk factors and myths and misperceptions.

Panel members include Doug Petit of Parent to Parent, Dr. Michael Dupont of Family Medical Center of La Grange, Matthew Quinn of Rosecrance, Dr. Kathleen Burke Director for Substance Use Initiatives for Will County, Barb Barrett of Brain Science Youth Outreach Services and moderator Ron Melka, Executive Director of Lyons Mental Health Commission
