Community Nurse Health Center Offers Free Dental Screenings for Children

Community Nurse Health Center in La Grange is celebrating National Health Center Week 2015 by providing free dental exams to school-aged children.

The free dental screenings will be provided to children ages 5-12 at the Community Nurse Dental Center on Aug. 12, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., according to a news release.

“National Health Center Week is part of a campaign to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of American Community Health Centers, the largest and most successful system of primary healthcare,” the release states.

Community Health Centers use a sliding fee discount for patients based on family income to keep services affordable. Patients serve as members on a board of directors that oversees the centers.

Community Nurse Health Center is a local, non-profit Community Health Center serving individuals and families of all ages from the western suburbs. Community Nurse provides medical care, dental care and it also has on-site psychiatry and counseling services.
