A man was injured Sept. 26 in a bicycle incident on the Salt Creek Greenway Trail, about a quarter mile into Brookfield, according to Don Parker, a spokesman for the forest preserve district.
Parker said the man was brought to Loyola Hospital, where he is being treated for a serious head injury,
Forest reserve police officers and La Grange Park EMS responded at 2:33 p.m. Friday to the report of an injured bicyclist, about 60 years old, who was discovered by a runner on the Salt Creek Bike Trail.
“There were no signs of foul play, no evidence to suggest this was anything other than a bike accident,” Parker said. “The path was smooth and clear at the time of the incident.”
