Davanti Enoteca Opens Tonight in Western Springs
The new restaurant brings a new energy to a location that's seen three tenants come and go. A soft opening Thursday packed the house, and it opens to the public Friday.
After seeing three restaurants come and go at the corner of Hillgrove and Wolf in Western Springs, the town could finally have a keeper in Davanti Enoteca, which opens Friday.
The restaurant, based in Chicago, celebrated with a soft opening Thursday night and opens to the public at 4 p.m. Friday.
It's located at 800 Hillgrove Ave., a spot that hasn't been friendly in the past—McGann's, La Dolce Vita and 800 West didn't succeed there. But a new energy, an incredible menu and a welcoming, improved decor are all positive signs for Davanti. There's also a newly landscaped outdoor seating area for when it gets warmer.

Davanti opened in 2010 in Chicago's Little Italy and also has locations in San Diego, Scottsdale and Del Mar. The interior has been redone and features a beautiful party room, a brick pizza oven and walls covered in wine.
“You’re going to be blown away by the setting itself, by the beautiful restaurant that we're going to be providing,” managing partner Chris Elsey said in a previous article. “There will be overly friendly staff, welcoming you like you’re coming back home. And once the food and wine begins, the servers take over and will make your experience just wonderful."

Elsey said the restaurant will be open for dinner only until Monday, April 15, when it will be open for lunch at 11:30 a.m. That following weekend, the restaurant will also be open for brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The restaurant is open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, but Elsey said he'll play around with the closing time on weekends, especially if people are seated later into the night.
