David Druckman Lecture: The Terracotta Army

Tuesday, May 12, 1-3 PM at Thomas Ford Library

The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. This army of 8650 statues was buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE. Its purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. We were at the largest museum in China where this army is displayed. I present to you an oral presentation, personal photos, and personal video of our visit.
