Developer Seeks Western Springs Subsidy
The money would help the construction of a "luxurious" condo complex.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A developer is seeking financial help from the village of Western Springs with a 10-unit condo complex downtown.
At Monday's Village Board meeting, Trustee James John said the developer is asking for assistance with its project at 514 Hillgrove Ave.
The developer is KLM Development, owned by Felix Lampariello. The company broke ground on the project last month.

John said the village's staff and attorney are reviewing the developer's application to see which costs are eligible for assistance.
The money would come from a village tax increment financing district, or TIF, where growth in property tax money is designated for improvements in that area.

John did not say how much the developer was seeking. He said the matter would first head to the village's Economic Development Commission, which is expected to make a recommendation.
Next, the developer's request would go to the Village Board, either at its Dec. 19 or Jan. 9 meetings, John said.
According to the developer's news release in October, the four-story building would consist of units ranging in price from $650,000 to nearly $1.4 million.
The development is described as "luxurious" and "maintenance-free." The units will range from two to four bedrooms and two to 2½ bathrooms, according to the release.
The Village Board approved the zoning in June. Under the proposal, the first floor would be commercial.
The site is two blocks east of Village Hall and between an office building and a doctor's office.
Patch has filed a public records request for the developer's application for assistance.
