East And West Branches Of The Dupage River Closed Due To Flooding
Recent heavy rainfall has caused flooding and dangerous conditions in the East and West Branches of the DuPage River in the Naperville area.

Recent heavy rainfall has caused flooding and dangerous conditions in the East and West Branches of the DuPage River in the Naperville area. As a result, the Naperville Park District has received word from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources that the DuPage River is closed. Furthermore, the river has been designated as a Restricted Boating Area, meaning that recreational boating is prohibited until further notice.

Additionally, the Naperville Park District advises the community that the Riverwalk and other park facilities are experiencing flooding. Residents are asked to stay away from flooded areas and not enter any area with standing water. Portions of the Riverwalk, including pedestrian bridges are closed and will remain closed until waters recede.
Park District maintenance crews will assess damage caused by the flooding and perform flood cleanup at parks throughout the community.
