Easter Egg Frenzy 2012 on Tower Green [VIDEO]
A crowd of local kids showed up for the annual dash for colorful, candy-filled ovoids in the downtown center of Western Springs beneath the Water Tower.
Cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 40s couldn't keep over a hundred Western Springs kids from flocking to on Saturday morning for a Village tradition: the annual Easter egg hunt, featuring a spray of plastic eggs and a big, white, fluffy Easter Bunny.
Of course, "hunt" is a bit of a misnomer—the eggs, as always, sat out in plain sight. The difficulty is never finding the eggs, but getting a few before 30-60 seconds pass and they all rest in the various wicker baskets of kids who moved a bit faster!
Volunteers at the event, as usual, made sure that every kid got their eggs and some candy, and that any family who wanted to got a photo with the Bunny.
